"Sofía Jiménez Ochoa is a scientist at the De Novo Synthetic Biology Lab, i2sysbio, CSIC in Valencia. She holds an MSc in Evolutionary Biology and is passionate about molecular genetic evolution and dynamics. Sofía has participated in the largest worldwide competition in Synthetic Biology with the University of Groningen in 2021, ranking in the top 10 among overgrad teams. She possesses extensive experience in genetic engineering, working with E. coli and various yeast strains from the Saccharomyces genre. Her primary interest lies in the intersection of SynBio and Evolution, exploring their potential application in solving real-world problems in a sustainable manner. Additionally, Sofía has demonstrated her skills in supervising and mentoring several Bachelor students."
